Human Social Perception in Empirical Literature Human social perception is area of study within social psychology that involves the complex cognitive system that is personal to each individual. Since each person has a unique cognitive system, interpretation of social situations is unique to each individual. The differences in cognition and perception between different people allows for varied interpretations, accurate perceptions, and misperceptions. Social perception is an interesting topic that has been largely researched by a multitude of social psychologists. The goal of this paper is to provide a brief description of social psychology, a summary of social perception, some of its forms and uses, misperception, and accuracy in perception. Brief Description of Social Psychology Social psychology is the scientific field that focuses on the individual within society.
